Demo Launch & Balancing


This game started as a small game made in 48 hours for the GMTK game jam 2022.

In the game jam version, the cube had a different layout that I changed shortly after the jam. The new layout made it easier to reach weapons fast, but I balanced it by putting the reload button on the opposite site of the cube. If you played the game jam version, you would see that there was no ammo nor reloading or health system. In the first version after the jam, I added health and reloading but you had infinite ammo.  This caused the problem that the best tactic in the game was to stand on a spot luckily there was an easy fix for this. By making the ammo limited and only gaining new ammo when you move. It does not force you to keep moving although by giving you generous amount of ammo. You can still stand still but this new mechanic encourages the player to keep moving.

The initial idea of the game was to be a shooter platformer. As you can imagine making a Jump and Run with a giant dice causes a lot of problems. I cut the platforming sections from the game and the shooting part got inspired by wave shooters. I am planning on adding platforming sections back into the game later on. Since your cube is destroyed you will have to find a new one and on your journey you are going to be using many different kinds of Giant dice vehicles.

After a lot more balancing, because the boss fight was too difficult I reached a point where Iam confident in releasing this demo 75 days after the GMTK game jam.
